Create Gallery and Frames is Celebrating It's One-Year Anniversary

Create Gallery and Frames is celebrating its one-year anniversary, marking an exciting milestone for the local art community and the growing creative scene in Garden City.

Since opening its doors, the gallery has become a welcoming space where artists, collectors, and visitors can experience art in a thoughtful and approachable environment. The gallery combines curated fine art exhibitions with museum-quality custom framing, offering both artistic inspiration and craftsmanship under one roof.

Founded by Joan Edwards and Leo Bratenas, Create Gallery and Frames was built on a vision of supporting artists while helping people connect more deeply with art. Joan Edwards brings decades of design and material expertise from her career in automotive design, while Leo Bratenas Has a Bachelor of Fine arts from The Institute of Art in Chicago, IL, contributes artistic knowledge and framing craftsmanship.

Over the past year, the gallery has showcased a growing roster of artists, hosted community events, and developed a strong custom framing program serving collectors, artists, and homeowners across the Boise and Garden City area. The gallery’s blog, artist features, events and workshops have also helped create meaningful connections between the public and the creative process.

“Opening the gallery was always about more than displaying artwork,” said Joan Edwards. “We wanted to build a space where people feel comfortable spending time with art, asking questions, meeting artists, and becoming part of a creative community.”
 

Located in the heart of Garden City’s, Live-Work-Create, an evolving arts district, Create Gallery and Frames continues to welcome visitors looking for inspiration, original artwork, and expert framing services.

As the gallery enters its second year, the team looks forward to expanding exhibitions, Hosting more events, supporting more local and regional artists, and continuing to grow alongside the vibrant arts community that makes Garden City such a unique destination for creativity.

During the anniversary event, visitors can explore the gallery, meet artists, enjoy treats, and take part in interactive experiences from a variety of local vendors. Guests can look forward to a live calligrapher, a poet, a photo booth, permanent jewelry, churros, and offerings from Elase Med Spa, along with an anniversary raffle. The event is free and open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.
